Welcome to Living Proofs

Underlining Your Success

Hello, I’m Bridget Wilkins, founder of Living Proofs, a freelance proofreading service in the UK helping businesses to outsource their corporate report proofreading with confidence. I specialise in proofreading annual reports and corporate communications for FTSE companies. If you’re looking to outsource your corporate proofreading to a freelance proofreader, I can help.

What does corporate report proofreading involve?

Corporate proofreading services are about much more than simply checking documents for grammar, spelling and punctuation errors. I check reports for consistency, readability, as well as layout and formatting issues. Annual reports are complex documents that need to be presented correctly, adhering to a strict format and using client-specific information. An annual report is more than just a statutory obligation – it presents an opportunity for the company to tell their story in a clear and compelling way. In the last decade I have proofread hundreds of corporate reports for businesses from a wide range of sectors. To find out more about my background, skills and experience, take at look at the About page.

Who do I work with?

The majority of my proofreading clients are corporate communications consultancies and creative consultancies. They offer creative support and guidance in reporting to FTSE and Fortune 500 clients in a range of industries.

I work across sectors including banking, healthcare, telecommunications, pensions, asset management, investment, fashion and mining, providing business proofreading services for clients including Emperor Design, Fleishman, Lyons Bennett, Paragon Workplace and Octopus Investments.

How outsourcing your corporate proofreading can help your business

Working with a professional proofreader ensures:

  • Targeted quality control.
  • Advice on client-specific conventions as well as grammar, punctuation, spelling and formatting errors.
  • Consistency throughout reports and documents.
  • Coherency. I take documents with numerous contributors and ensure they are fluent, error-free and stand up to scrutiny.
  • Flexibility. I am open to potential changes and updates.
  • Value for money. I agree my fee in advance so production budgets can be met.

Martin Davey, Author, December 2024: Bridget has now worked with me on eight of my novels, and I hope that she will continue to work with me on the next eight. My stories have a complicated and often tricky narrative structure. Still, Bridget is able to navigate through them with ease and not only helps me to make sense of them but, more often than not, suggests a new and even more interesting course for my characters to follow. I value her skills and her advice greatly. See link here for my book editing services https://livingproofs.co.uk/book-editing-services/.
